HELLO FRIENDS
For over 40 years, I hid behind perfection—on stage, at work, in life. I was achieving, smiling, making people laugh, all while battling an a private struggle that that consumed me and caused me shame. I told myself I was fine. I wasn’t. For years, my internal cry was "hear me, see me," and the first time I stepped on stage and the audience responded, I knew I'd found where I belonged. Laughter is healing, and making an audience feel is what I was put on this earth to do.
This space is where I share the truth of my childhood abuse and how it affects me to this day, my struggles, and my shame through my writing. If you’ve ever felt trapped by perfection, society's expectations, controlled by food, or afraid to ask for help, you’re not alone. I hope my stories resonate with you; some are funny and silly, some are raw, and some are full of hard truths.

I'm ready to tell my story to others - whether that's one person or one million, and I believe what I have to say could change your life. I see you.
- Lisa
I'm Fine
Last summer, I began severely restricting my intake via intermittent fasting. The fasting periods got longer and longer, and the calorie intake got less and less.

Nature

Nature knows how you look at the valleys and bluffs, the deer, foxes, and cranes no matter how you are feeling — it gives you a sense of belonging.

Costco - It's Bananas
They have bananas - they have everything! And if you’re menopausal and almost all of your clothing isn’t from the Kirkland Kollection, what are you even doing

Food

Some of your memories around food are full of joy. The handwritten recipes and the cookbooks passed down make you feel nostalgic for the tastes and the flavors and the people who are no longer here.

Suitcases
the heavy bags you’ve been carrying are OK to set down and walk away from. Everything in those suitcases is what someone else assigned to you along the way. They aren’t serving you, and you don’t need them.
